Terms & Conditions
The basis on which we provide our services and operate our website
Last updated: 1 January 2025
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before engaging the services of Setia Murni or using our website at setia-murni.pro. By making an enquiry, engaging our services, or accessing this website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.
If anything is unclear, we warmly invite you to contact us before proceeding. We are happy to explain any aspect of these terms in plain language.
1. About Us
Setia Murni is a legal practice providing pension protection services in Malaysia. Our principal office is at Level 9, Menara MBMR, Jalan Syed Putra, 58000 Kuala Lumpur. We may be contacted at [email protected] or +60 3-8074 6231.
2. Scope of Services
Setia Murni offers the following services, the scope and fee for each of which are described on our website and in any engagement letter or service agreement provided to you:
- Gentle Pension Review (RM 590) — a structured review of your EPF and pension entitlements, delivered as a written overview and a consultation.
- Pension Claim and Appeal Care (RM 1,200) — full assistance with a declined or delayed pension or withdrawal claim, including documentation and correspondence with the relevant authority.
- Family Pension Stewardship (RM 1,890) — a comprehensive arrangement for households coordinating multiple pension schemes, including case oversight, regular updates, and a consolidated dossier for dependants.
We reserve the right to decline an engagement at our discretion, particularly where a matter falls outside our area of practice or where a conflict of interest exists.
3. Engagement and Agreement
A formal engagement with Setia Murni commences upon execution of a written engagement letter or service agreement and receipt of the applicable fee or agreed deposit. Until that point, any communication between us — including responses to enquiries via our website — does not constitute legal advice nor an agreement to act on your behalf.
Each engagement is governed by the specific terms set out in the service agreement for that matter, which should be read together with these Terms and Conditions.
4. Fees and Payment
Our service fees are as stated on our website at the time of engagement. Fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Payment terms are set out in your engagement letter. We accept payment by bank transfer and such other methods as we may notify from time to time.
Fees paid are non-refundable once work has commenced, except where we are unable to proceed through no fault of yours, or where otherwise required by law. We do not charge additional fees without your prior written agreement.
5. Your Responsibilities
To allow us to assist you effectively, you agree to:
- Provide us with accurate, complete, and up-to-date information and documentation
- Notify us promptly of any changes to your circumstances that may affect your matter
- Respond to reasonable requests for information or instructions within a reasonable time
- Refrain from providing misleading or fraudulent information
We accept no liability for delays, errors, or adverse outcomes arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you.
6. Confidentiality
We treat all client information with strict confidentiality, in accordance with our professional obligations, the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), and our Privacy Policy. We will not disclose your information to any third party without your consent, except as required by law or by the relevant professional regulations governing our practice.
7. No Guarantee of Outcome
While we apply care, diligence, and experience to every matter, we cannot and do not promise any particular outcome in respect of any pension review, claim, or appeal. Decisions on pension entitlements rest with the relevant governmental or statutory bodies, and outcomes may be affected by factors beyond our control.
Nothing on our website or in our communications should be construed as a representation that a favourable outcome will be achieved.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Setia Murni's liability to you in connection with any engagement or use of our website shall be limited to the fees paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from our services or from your use of this website, save where such loss is caused by our own negligence or wilful misconduct.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, design, graphics, and any reports or written materials we produce for you — is the intellectual property of Setia Murni or its licensors and is protected under applicable Malaysian and international law. You may not reproduce, adapt, or distribute any part of this website's content without our prior written consent.
Written materials produced specifically for your matter are prepared for your personal use in connection with that matter and may not be relied upon in other contexts or shared with third parties without our consent.

Our website may contain links to external websites operated by third parties. Such links are provided for convenience only and do not imply any endorsement of the linked website or its content. We accept no responsibility for the content, accuracy, or practices of external websites.
12. Termination of Engagement
Either party may bring an engagement to a close by providing reasonable written notice, subject to the terms of any engagement letter. In the event of termination, you will be liable only for fees proportionate to work completed up to the date of termination. We will promptly return any original documents provided to us for the purpose of the engagement.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms and Conditions, and any engagement with Setia Murni, are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. We encourage any concerns to be raised with us directly in the first instance, as we prefer to resolve matters amicably and with care.
